AIM Gateway FAQ

Q: What is the AIM Gateway?

The AIM Gateway provides communication with the AOL Instant Messaging Service. AOL is perhaps the most difficult of the Public IM services to support because AOL purposely makes it difficult to implement their unpublished proprietary protocol. The most requested lacking feature is the import of buddies during registration. There is some hope that the feature will be supported in the future.

Q: What features are unavailable?

• NO import of server buddy lists
• NO file transfer
• NO multichat
• NO user search
