The computer or program in a client/server architecture that requests services of a server. The client is the Jabber Program (APUJM, or Psi) that connects to the APUIM service. The clients for Jabber are considered "thin" because they are small and are simply responsible for sending and receiving messages to and from the Server and displaying them to the user. Most preferences for Jabber, such as your Roster are stored on the server, making it convenient to switch between computers or programs.
